Meet Rabbi Marshall Lesack.
With almost five years of experience working with children at Camp Ramah Darom as Assistant Director, he brings a new kind of religious education to Congregation Shearith Israel. Experiential learning – check. Hebrew education – check. Israeli cooking – check. Jewish cultural learning – check.
In addition, he leads several adult education classes for the congregation focused on modern Jewish life and culture. Twice monthly, he conducts both family and adult learning services on Shabbat, providing for a more intimate setting for Jewish learning.
Rabbi Lesack is a graduate of The Jewish Theological Seminary and has an MA in Jewish Education from the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education. In addition to his studies in America, he has studied at both higher education institutions and yeshivot in Israel. Today, he serves on the faculty of the Lisa F. Brill Institute for Jewish Learning/Melton Adult Mini-School in Atlanta and is a consultant to Jewish summer camps throughout North America.
Rabbi Lesack incorporates his experience, particularly his Jewish Summer Camp experience, into our Machaneh Shai children’s education program keeping our kids engaged and having fun, while still learning Hebrew and understanding traditional Jewish culture and topics.
It’s not the same as the Sunday School and Hebrew School that you attended. It’s better.
