At shul, when someone completes an honor by leading part of the service or for reading Torah, we often congratulate them by saying, “Yasher Koach.” Literally, it means “may your strength be firm.” When congregants participate in services or attend our programs, it makes us a stronger community.
Another way to keep Shearith Israel strong is to contribute financially. We are actively involved in a number of programs and services for our congregants, as well as for the broader community, so we rely on the generosity and ongoing support of our members and others. Even $18 or $36 can make a difference. Please consider making a donation to support Congregation Shearith Israel to mark special occasions in your life, to honor loved ones, or just to help us gain strength so we can better serve our community.
If you would like to make a donation to Congregation Shearith Israel, you can contribute to the General Tzedakah fund, or you can designate your gift to a specific program. Some of the of the most common causes include:
- Kiddush Fund
- Rabbi Kaiman’s Discretionary Fund
- Chesed Society – life cycle support for members in need in both times of grief and joy
- Tager Music Fund
Feel free to contact Jodi Salomon, Executive Director, at 404-873-1743 or firstname.lastname@example.org for other donation possibilities. Thank you for your support!
